A: https://www.ada.gov/regs2010/service_animal_qa.html

Service Dog: Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.  The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability.

Emotional Support Dogs provide comfort through their presence and are not trained to perform specific tasks like service dogs.

Q: What is a family home protection dog? Are they Safe around kids?

A: Family Home Protection Dogs are Home Front K9s most highly trained and stabilized dogs. HFK9s are specifically selected by temperament and stress inoculated to every environment. Our K9s are raised and socialized from a very young age to be gentle around children. These K9s are trained to be protective of their family. HFK9s trainers make sure that the K9 is socialized in public areas and will only defend when given a specific command. However, if there is a threat to any of the family members and the command is not able to be given, these K9s are taught to sense and identify the threat and will take acting in defending its family.
